im using iron and required a firefox plugin while i was on a webpage and was wondering is this safe because while i was installing it said windows media player firefox plugin and im using iron? its under programs on my uninstall section through control panel and it says windows media player firefox plugin.

And for safe surfing, I'd recommend to install a Firefox add-on called LinkExtend. With it you can easily detect sites marked as harmfull so you shouldn't end up downloading fake plug-ins.

You could also copy the plug-in name and search the web for more info/trusted download sources.

Typically plugins do not create a program folder. It's a browser plugin so it most likely installed into Downloaded Program Files or a similar location. If you don't wish to use it any more you may uninstall it and that should get rid of it. If you want more details about it, check the link I posted and view the plugin details in your browser.
