Virus hiding files/disabling Malwarebytes

Recommended Posts

I have a bug, but I'm not sure what it is. Its hidden and has disabled my Malwarebytes program by hidding the EXE file that starts. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, but whatever I have keeps hidding the EXE and unable to run Malwarebytes. Spyware Doctor was unable to remove it. Windows Defender is unable to run as well.

I'm tried selecting "show hidden files and folders" option but it stays hidden and doesn't reveal the files. I ran GMER program and got the following log. Please help!

I posted this as a reply in another topic, sorry! Move to this topic.

*BUMP* Please!

When I attempt to install Malwarebytes again, I get the following error:

"Unable to execute file:

CreateProcess failed; code 2

The system cannot find the file specified"

I tried installing Malwarebytes under a different name, on my 2nd harddrive, but its not working. Whatever it is, is not showing up on my processes list of Task Manager and cannot disable it. It works by hiding specific folders therefore causing my icons to loose their targets. Please help! I'll be here all day!

Sorry for delayed response. Forums have been really busy. If you still need help with this do following, please.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.

Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt

[*]Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.
