Unable to remove malware detected

Recommended Posts

I have scanned my computer twice & a malware is detected but when I click for it to be removed it says it cannot be removed. It shows item to be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Systemrestore\disableconfig. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks Chaly

Hi -

I think you can not delete it as it is a False Positive -

This setting is only available in the Home Edition and Professional versions of Windows. Also, see the "Turn off System Restore" setting. If the "Turn off System Restore" setting is enabled, the "Turn off Configuration" setting is not active. If the "Turn off System Restore" setting is disabled, and "Turn off Configuration" is not configured, System Restore cannot be turned off locally, but it can be configured. If the "Turn off System Restore" setting is not configured, and "Turn off Configuration" is disabled, System Restore can be turned off locally but not configured

Supported on Microsoft Windows XP Professional only

Thank You - :)
