xp smart security virus has crippled my laptop HELP!!!

Recommended Posts

I spent like three hours the other night trying to download mbytes to get rid of the xp smart security viurs. After changing the file name and extensions for mbytes if finally downloaded but without a criticle file that was blocked by the virus. I downloaded the file changed name and exe. then finally got mbytes to open. i ran the scan and removed infected but it won't remove smart security virus.

Its like every time i do something is sees what i'm doing and blocks me from doing it again. the damn thing is one step ahead every time. at this point i have to power down my cpu unexpectedly just to get back into safe mode.

any help would be greatly appriciated.

If you still need help with this do the following, please.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.

Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt

[*]Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Download GMER here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:

  • Double-click .exe that you downloaded
  • Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
  • Don't check
    Show All
    box while scanning in progress!
  • When scanning is ready, click Copy.
  • This copies log to clipboard
  • Post log (if the log is long, archive it into a zip file and attach instead of posting) in your reply.
