security tool virus on windows 7 system

Recommended Posts

Hello dsprado, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org :)

Update Malwarebytes, run a quick scan, and then allow it to remove whatever it finds. If Malwarebytes asks you to restart, please do so after saving any work you may have open. It is VERY important to restart as quickly as possible when prompted by Malwarebytes.

You can also try this guide here if the above does not work:

http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=178790

Let me know if that does the trick for you.

If not, you'll need to visit the Malware Removal Forum which I will give you directions for if it turns out that you need them.

  • Root Admin

Well if we can't remove it automatically then we can certainly help you remove it in the forums.

Update and Scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

  • Start MalwareBytes AntiMalware (Vista users must Right click and choose RunAs Admin)
  • Please DO NOT run MBAM in Safe Mode unless requested to, you MUST run it in normal Windows mode.
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Select the Update tab
    • Click Update

[*]When the update is complete, select the Scanner tab

[*]Select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.

[*]When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

[*]Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

[*]When completed, a log will open in Notepad. please copy and paste the log into your next reply

    • If you accidently close it, the log file is saved here and will be named like this:
    • C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-date (time).txt

If needed reboot when asked and run another quick scan.

If it still will not remove it then please print out, read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someon has replied to your post.

Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org

dsprado,

The free version should take care of it for you, unless the malware blocks it from running.

If the directions I gave you do not work, please follow those of AdvancedSetup above.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from here.

Then run a quick scan.

:)
