I think what MBAM is detecting is actually a component of MediaShout, which displays song lyrics on projectors, and does advanced multimedia presentations.

I do have my suspicions that this computer I'm working on is infected with something, but considering other hardware issues that I've seen it have, I can't be certain. I have yet to go into great detail analysing this yet. Here's the MBAM log, followed by a screenshot of regedit displaying what MBAM is complaining about:

Oops , good guys not doing enough research before they name something it seems .

That's possible. Although I really can't guarantee that the entery was created by, or related to, MediaShout. I guess I could get on their forums and ask, but their 'experts' are a bit snobbish, and I hate asking them anything.

It wont hurt defs at all to remove this , it is only a trace def .

That's good to know. I'd hate for it to be a real conflict. I assume that this entry was from a fake codec that installs rogue software?
