Windows XP wont boot

I scanned my pc with mbam, it asked for a reboot, and it wont start up, i just get a bunch of errors, something about userinit.exe, svchost.exe, atixx.exe(dont remember the exact file name) missing, it wont even start in safe mode, had to login using the directory services restore mode.

Unless the CD that you are looking to purchase matches YOUR system, service tag etc ENTIRELY, then you should NOT just randomly buy a copy... it could be the wrong one.

& yes, what Firefox wrote below me, randomly downloading some copy of XP is not only illegal its probably also malware infested.

Maybe sime virus attached itself to those files you mentioned(2 system files, one of ATIs video card driver file or sumthing). The Mbam detects the malwares in those files and as set as default, it deleted the infected files.

I recommend you to set Mbam to rather quarantine infected files than remove the so you don't lose important system files.

Ps. When do the error messages pop up?
