I have a blank screen when rebooting with Safe Mode

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So i am actually trying to remove Virus Protector and I know how to do that, but when I reboot my computer using Safe mode with networking, I just have a black screen that says "Safe Mode" in the corners, and the virus protector comes up too with all its various prompts. I am unable to access my start menu, desktop, anything.

Does anyone know how I can access my Malwarebytes program even though my screen is blank?

Is it possible that Virus Protector is not causing my screen to be blank?

What should I do?

My computer is Windows Vista if that helps.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post the one that is not minimized.

After you have posted that log, please visit this webpage for instructions for running ComboFix:

  • When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a new HijackThis log so we may continue cleaning the system.
