Conflicts with Norton 360

Recommended Posts

I have Norton 360 v4 and Malwarebytes v1.44. I recently upgraded from v3 to v4. But now if I have mbamservice to load automatically, N360 does not load. If I have it on manual, N360 loads but I get a error when I run Malwarebytes. I have attached a screenshot. I have run the mbam clean program and reinstalled Malwarebytes. I hope somebody can help me with this.

Thanks

For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7:

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

Please use this with your Norton to follow the directions from Sartori -

For Most Norton Products

Add exclusion to Auto-Protect and Risk scan

1 Start your Norton 2010 product.

2 In the Computer pane, click Settings.

3 Under Exclusions, next to Scan Exclusions, click Configure.

4 If you want to exclude a file from scan, under Scan Exclusions, click Add.

5 Browse and select the disk drive or folder or file you would like to exclude and click OK.

If you want to include subfolders within the folder, check Include Subfolders.

6 If you want to exclude a file from Auto-Protect, under Auto-Protect Exclusions, click Add.

7 Browse and select the disk drive or folder or file you would like to exclude and click OK.

If you want to include subfolders within the folder, check Include Subfolders.

8 Click Apply > OK

Thank You - :(

Hello

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

* C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well

I added them to firewall setting to allow the above files. I never had to do this for Norton 360 v3. I will post if this works or not after I restart.

Hi -

I am not qualified to fully read the logs but ..... If you want someone to check all the logs we do have an area that will check it for free -

As we don't work on Malware removal or diagnostics in the general forums we can do it if you follow these simple instructions below -

Please print out, read, and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post - Just be a bit patient as they are a bit busy at the moment -

There may be a hidden problem that is preventing you from doing the reasonably simple steps that were listed -

The only other option I can give is to download Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Common Controls from here

Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org

Thank You - :(
