pretty serious malware issues here

Recommended Posts

So my computer got infected today with antivirus xp and other similar viruses and slowly but surely the virus has completely overrun my computer. I pretty much can't do anything on my log in. I am running xp btw. On the alternative log ins, there is some activity possible. I can access internet explorer on the other login so I tried to DL malware bytes. Unfortunately, an "open with" menu comes up when I try to run the .exe aka another virus. Its the same story in safe mode. A virus managed to get into safe mode as well, but I feel as though this problem is fixable. Can anyone help?

Update:

Managed to download malware bytes and run a quick scan in safe mode as an administrator using instructions on the antivirus2010 (? something like that) page. It found a bunch of nasty stuff, and rebooted after removing them. I decided to reboot in normal windows mode only to find that my login (the administrator) was still covered in viruses. I cant even access "start." My mothers login is functioning perfectly and I'm currently using it since mine is pretty much useless.

I ran a full scan, and there was nothing found. Can anyone help me?
