Delay in Malwarebytes' opening program

Hello and good morning. I am having a very small issue with Mbam opening it's program. When you click the icon to open, it takes around 5 to 10 seconds to open. I am running Microsoft Security Essentials, Mbam Pro and SUPERAntiSpyware free edition. Operating system is Vista Home Premium/64bit os. We have this on 2 computers,one Dell studio 1737 laptop and a Dell XPS 435T Desktop. Same operating system on both and same security software on both also. It's not a big issue, but was wondering if there is any adjustments I could make to solve this. I have seen the solution for XP in the Common Issues,Questions,and their Solutions, but that is for XP if I am not mistaken. Now in MSE under Exculsions, without me doing any adjustments, there is a listing for Malwarebytes' already there. Aagin, no big deal and I understand with the 64bit systems being "new" so to speak there are still issues to work out. If this is the case, no problem. Thank you all at Mbam for the great program that you provide!

Same problem here Windows7 Starter, Acer Netbook. Very slow opening GUI and slow connecting to server for updates.

Are you using the free version of Mbam or paid?

I am on Windows 7 on 2 pc's and actually this is not the fastest opening program but I have also noticed it seems to come up last on bootup in Pro version so my guess is if you are using Pro version, you might need to look at how much you have running in startup.

I am using the Pro version. I am also on a selective start-up and use StartUpLite also. Have no issues with start-up. Around 1min 30sec. I can go to work on both computers so not a start-up issue

This delay is just when I try to open the Malwarebytes' program. other than that, it performs normally.

OK and obviously you "started protection" so I think it really boils down to the fact the program does not open quickly...I mean I am on an I-7 with 4 gb Ddr3 1600 memory and I think it opens slow as well.

Yes that is correct, just opens slowly. The laptop has 4gb's, but the desktop has 12gb's and has same issues, just opens slowly

I have noticed that too. I have always assumed that the scanner probably needs to load some things into memory. It has never loaded quickly, but It doesn't surprise or disappoint me either.

I have always noticed that, but it's not that big a deal.

The Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Protection Module is deliberately delayed to allow your antivirus to load before it attempts to do so, this is to help avoid conflicts. If you wish to change this behavior and you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you can do the following:

Configure a Service in Windows Vista and Windows 7:

• Click on the Start button and type services.msc and press Enter
  
• Click Continue at the User Account Control prompt
  
• Once the Services window opens, scroll down the list until you find the MBAMService and double click on it
  
• Click on the drop down menu next to Startup Type and select Automatic
  
• Click the Apply button and click on Ok
  
• Close the Services control panel
  

Once that's done, reboot your PC and you should see it start much faster now. If you wish to change it back just go through the same steps but set it to Automatic (Delayed Start) instead of Automatic and it will return to its default behavior.

I just counted, mine took about 15 seconds, normally it's at least 10 I think, although I haven't really counted before.

It doesn't bother me personally and I don't mind waiting, but I can see how it could be frustrating.

This was not a big deal or anything I was worried about. I was just making sure that this was not something that needed to be brought to your attention. Mine is taking around 10 seconds to open. From seeing the other responses, I can tell that this is normal and will consider this closed. Thanks to all that responded and again Thank you all at Mbam for the great work that you do. Your aces in my book!
