Do I also need Antivirus along with MB?

Recommended Posts

Do we still need to have Antivirus installed or this will remove viruses, as well?. Also want to know if this will work along Antivirus programs like Kaspersky or will create conflicts? KIS 2010 got infected yesterday. I couldn't believe it. I removed the spyware with free malwarebytes LOL!!

Hi and welcome.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is not an anti virus application, it may not find viruses or worms and does not interact with any email clients or email web services in any way.

You must have an antivirus software application installed.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware does not include any components beyond antimalware protection, detection\removal and IP blocking. No firewall, no phish protection, spam prevention, no HIPS.

It should run fine with all Kaspersky products

Hi WANNABETECH and welcome to malwarebytes'!

Just to clarify better on what TeMerc said, malwarebytes' is designed as a complementary software, which is to protect you against what your anti-virus misses. However it can catch viruses and worms, but not on a regular scale such as products like Kaspersky or whatever. So yes you still need to keep Kaspersky.

Do you know that x86 is the same as 32-bit?
