Vista enables Two-Way Firewall Control

Recommended Posts

The links at the bottom of the blog page are not helpful to the community. Fun Web Products | My Way | Smiley Central are known distributors of malware. I feel in light of that the link should be removed from this forum. We will not support anything connected to sites like that.

All of these links have basically the same wording, which is strange if you read it *carefully*: "Microsoft ships Vista with a better firewall than previous versions of Vista..." - Huh? How do I ship Vista with a better firewall than previous Vista, when Vista itself is new? Do you mean Vista SP1? If so, then it should say SP1 - but I am pretty sure that the Firewall did *not* undergo a major overhaul in the Vista SP1 still being doles out to the masses as we speak....in fact, the documented changes in SP1, available in M$ Word 2003 / XP / 2000 format from here, of which the 'changelog' is also reproduced here, shows only minor changes to the firewall....

Basically, I believe that this blog was written by the makers of the software advertised in the blog near the bottom - Vista Firewall Control, by Sphinx Software.

Here is a better blog on this issue about the Vista Firewall: http://www.vistahunt.com/windows-vista-two-way-firewall.html
