Malwarebytes Not Responding

Recommended Posts

I ran Malwarebytes to get rid of the Antivirus XP 2010 malware on my laptop. It turned up 17 infected files, and I began the quarantine/removal process. But rather quickly, it came upon a file (some "HKEY" thing if I remember correctly), and all of a sudden, Malwarebytes froze, and was "not responding." This happened twice, and I still have that virus on my computer. One website suggested I re-write a registry file on my computer to even get Malwarebytes to start up in the first place after contracting this virus, and I had to write some of those "HKEY" things in there... wondering if this issue is connected to that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I'm unable to update Malwarebytes first, because the virus has disabled my ability to do anything on the internet.
