MyWay.com

Recommended Posts

I have just acquired the MB. The first page that I went to (My Home Page) turned up as a false positive. Please remove it from the positive list.

66.235.126.61

This is a well know page.

Hi and welcome.

I can't double-check right now, but according to this post the myway.com IPs were delisted half a year ago.

Are you sure you have the latest database updates installed??

TY for the quick reply, Tony. Yes, I updated and My Way still comes up as positive. Its funny, that was the first page I went to after downloading the pay version of Malwarebytes. Fortunately, no other problems a other sites.

Two more questions:

How can I get access to the Data Base?

I am a member of another forum. When a good answer is received there is a way to give thank you and points to the one that anwsers, anything similiar, here?

Not sure about Myway still being blocked, but the IP is on a range (66.235.126.) from IAC Search Media Inc that is hosting over 151 malicious sites.

I don't think MyWay which is part of MyWebSearch from IAC Advertising is a FP.

I just got the paid version a few days ago and hadn't click on my MyWay home page yet. Did so and got the IP popup.

I aslo have my MyWay weather on a seperate shortcut and did get the popup on it first thing.

I just figured it was because it was powered by WeatherBug and put it on ignore.

Will follow this thread to see the results.

PS-Hi TonyK, long time no see.

I tend to agree, but the question remains why half a year ago MysteryFCM delisted the IPs in the first place...

Yes it's a well know page. And well know for adware and other invites of adware Addons as well. As you can see Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.44 removes:

C:\Program Files\MyWay (Adware.MyWebSearch) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

C:\Program Files\MyWay\SrchAstt (Adware.MyWebSearch) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

Sorry for taking so long.

Previously, I had the entire /24 blocked. This was reduced to 19 specific IP's to allow MyWay users to access their e-mail etc. At present, there's only 19 IP's on this range blocked, and if IAC keep moving IP's around to get round this, they're going to find the entire /24 blocked again.

Is this why I can't really use the AP news page http://news.myway.com/index/id/home.html ? This is a very well known and useful news page, and every time I click on an AP news story on it I get the IP Blocked notice from MB. It makes the page unusable, enough so that I'm about to disable the IP protection on MB.

No need to "disable the IP protection on MB."

You can add this to the IP ignore list. Right-click on the Malwarebytes system-tray icon after the block notification appears, and choose Add to Ignore List and the IP.
