Bizarre sound problem after upgrade

Recommended Posts

After I upgraded to the paid version, and activated "the protection module", the sound on my Dell Inspiron 1525 becomes "staticky", like an irq conflict or something. When you turn it off, the sound goes back to normal. WTF?

Anybody else ever experieinced this? Any suggestions?

thanks,

Chris

Not experienced your issue. But then again, I've set my Windows system to pretty much not use sounds except for the most critical system events.

Let me suggest you contact support & send an email to support@malwarebytes.org

Be sure to tell them your Windows version/edition.

Well, the first rule of thumb, update your drivers, being sound in this case.....

I know this thread is over a month old, however I'd like to confirm that I am also experiencing this issue. Only when "website blocking" is selected does this issue happen. I am running a completely fresh install of Windows 7 Pro (64bit) with the latest sound card drivers for my built in Realtek sound card listed as "Realtek ALC889A codec" on the manufacturer website. The motherboard this card is on is the Gigabyte Ultra Durable (GA-EP45-UD3P rev 1.0) and the driver is R2.45 and dated 04-12-2010.

Hopefully this helps the team isolate the issue and provide a future fix.

Thanks for such great software =)

Welcome epimyth -

This new site from M/soft may help you - It is a good fix if you think it may be sound related etc - Just click the items one at a time -

Also read this FAQ topic about the IP module -

Please post back with your AntiVirus if you need more - Also post if this is recent or only since you installed MBAM -

Thank you - :(

EDIT - Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org

Hello epimyth

I had a hard time finding the correct sound drivers for my Windows 7 64bit sytem with motherboard GA-G31M-ES2L rev1.1 and I had to search the Gigabyte site for my exact motherboard to find the correct Realtek driver that is Driver date: 1/19/2010 and Driver Version: 6.0.1.6029 for Realtek ALC883 codec.

I could not get the correct sounds to work with drivers from the Realtek site.
