Compasss Posted March 21, 2010 Author ID:218401 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.Do you still need help?Hello, and thanks. I'm not too sure. I thought I might have had a virus/malware, due to my computer slowing down and shutting off a couple times out of the blue. But I don't think a virus/malware is the case anymore, probably just that my device is getting old. Another person uses this laptop other than myself so over the year we might have picked up a bunch of low risk spywar junk. Just installed spybot and hijackthis. Though I'm kind of hesitant on removing/cleaning everything due to I have no idea whats what. Was thinking maybe just saving my important docs and such to a external and reinstalling windows all together. Any thoughts and comments are appreciated. Staff screen317 Posted March 22, 2010 Staff ID:219112 Share Posted March 22, 2010 Hi,Well we can take a look and see if you're infected, if you'd like. Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or HereDouble Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.Extra Note:If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post the one that is not minimized.-screen317
