Constant rebooting - error code 732 (2,0)

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum in a desperate bid to solve my problems! I am running Windows XP and have had a lot of problems lately with the pc. I believe the problem may lie in a malicious request through my mail inbox from someone who had requested to be a friend on facebook - ever since, the problems have been ever-present. Normally when I receive a request from somebody I am unsure about I hovver the mouse over the sender name and review the address from which it came - this one occasion I failed to do so and once I realised it was rogue, I returned to the inbox only to discover that the original message was now mysteriously deleted. In fact in virtually 99% of all occasions that I have since tried to log onto facebook, the pc has rebooted within a split second.

I have been running checks on the PC with AVG (free) and Malwarebytes + Spybot. The checks occasionally complete, but more often than not they are not finishing - sometimes rebooting half way through.

The most recent scans with MWBytes has resulted with an error code of 732 (2,0). Any ideas what this means?

I confess I'm lacking a great deal of knowledge when it comes to computers so any help would be greatly received in layman's terms!

Thanks.
