XP Pro Antivirus infection

Hi

I have had this infection - a bit different from the last ones (2009) version this one has stopped exe files running.

I have managed to use rkill.com to get rid of the main program and also updated Malware bytes to the latest databases (28/2/2010). I did this by changing the mbam.exe to com. The problem I have at the moment is all exe files do not run.

The malwarebytes program is currently running through a full system scan.

Can you help with the exe problem?
