Unable to Install Malaware Bytes

Hi

My computer was infected with Antivirus xp 2010 and it was suggested that i use Malawarebytes to resolve the issue. I have tried installing the program by downloading the latest version. I am unable to install the MB, what could be the reason ? I have tried to use the clean up tool also posted on your site. Request a speedy resolution pls.
