XP Internet Security Malware - Unable to remove.

I ran the rkill and iExplore.exe. Each time it seemed to get rid of the offending windows pops. Then as soon as I try to run the mbam-setup.exe, the windows giving the XP Internet security warnings start again.

I am unable to install the mbam to run the scan.

I saw some where they said to remane the mbam file, I tried that as well, still it does not work.

It appears this malware is hijacking any .exe.

Any thoughts or suggestions. My only option at this time is to nuke the windows and reinstall the windows.

I figured it out. I should have run the registry edit first before trying to run the malware. Once I did this, it worked.
