Malwarebytes ip blocking

Recommended Posts

There's a website ip address that anti-malware wont let me go unless I shut down malwarebyte anti-malware.

I love the ip protection but is there a way that i can have it ignore certain ip addresses because if not then I will have to stop using this great program. It has only recently started happening. maybe a month now.

Greetings hotdoc and welcome to Malwarebytes :)

You can have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware ignore the particular IP address of the website you're trying to visit by visiting the site and once you see the tray notification that Malwarebytes' has blocked it, right-click on the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware tray icon and use the Add to ignore list submenu to add that IP. Then refresh the web page and you should now be able to visit the site.

Should you ever choose to remove the site from your Ignore List, simply run the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware scanner and click on the Ignore List tab and it will be listed there for you to select and delete from the list if you wish.

Also, if you believe the site being blocked is a false positive then please refer to this post: IP Blocking False Positives and post the info here: False Positives

If you need anything else please post.

Thanks :)

thanks for the prompt and informative reply that really does help. yeah i was puzzled for days thinking my isp had something to do with it and Im glad word of mouth was able to direct me to this fine piece of software. In saying that anyone who has turned off notifications via this page (as annoying as the balloons can be :) ) you will need to delete that entry and re-added afterwards. For normal day to day surfing its great but when i load up my torrents it goes haywire.

thanks again :)

sorry I just want to clarify that the steps that exile360 told me wouldn't allow me to add to ignore list unless the balloon notifcations showed up.

so had to delete the registry entry to allow it back on for me to right click and add to ignore list. At least thats the observation I found.

Is there a way in the scanner menu to allow manual inclusion on the ignore list?

Hi hotdoc -

The torrents sites will always be a problem as that is where there are many infections - If you keep using them you will be back asking for someone to remove the infections that will eventually get through - Although Malwarebytes can protect you , it will not if you keep allowing torrents sites to be on your computer -

Here <- is the current section on IP protection and how to use it -

Thank You - :)
