Antivirus XP 2010

Recommended Posts

First time posting so, if this is covered in another thread, please redirect me.

I got a fake security pop up for Antivirus XP 2010. I checked the processes and noticed that MSASCui.exe was running. If I'm correct, this is usually legit from Windows Defender. I'm pretty sure I don't have that on my computer. When I stopped the process the pop up went away. I checked C:\Program Files\ there is no folder for Windows Defender so, I think this is a fake MSASCui.exe file. It's in my registry as a start up and I need to get this bug the hell out.

Thanks in advance for you input and ideas.
