antivirus 2010

hi i was able to download mbam-setup.exe to desktop but when i tried to install it the 2010 virus changed my computer somehow, because im being asked what program do i want to use to run anti-malware. i believe this the 2010 trying to stop me because i cant even open my media player with out this being asked and i dont know what program to use or if any listed can run the program i get all errors. please help
