Followed the Renaming Instructions MBM.COM Stalls

Windows XP SP3 here...PC is def infected w/XP Security Center. Followed the instructions to rename the mbm exe file. I have the latest database as of today, confirmed when the mbm.com runs....which is today 2/24/2010.

What happens is the program runs, then stops at about 6,000 objects scanned, sits on the hourglass....I waited about 15mins. to no avail. Task Mgr says Program not repsonding. did this like 5 times. HELP !

So the instructions here to rename the exe's I did and ran it. It runs but will stall after about a min or so.

What now ?
