Questions about the paid version

Recommended Posts

I've used the free version a couple of times and decided to buy it and have a few questions.

1. Can I install the paid version on more than one home PC?

2. The Shopping Cart has an option for Backup CD. Is this just a copy of malwarebytes on CD or is this a different program?

3. Does malwarebytes replace other virus programs such as AVG, or is it recommended to run your anti virus software too?

Thanks!

1. No, each PC needs to have it's own license.

2. It's just a copy of the current version you can download. Its up to you if you want or not.

3. No, you must use an Anti-Virus program. If you do not currently have one then Avira offers a free one and works well with MBAM.

Thank you.

Hi zeekstern and welcome to malwarebytes!

Just to clarify things better. Malwarebyte's is not an anti-virus. It is anti-malware and is designed to work flawlessly with your anti-virus. If you want some recomendations check these out.

Microsoft Security Essentials- http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/?mkt=en-us

MSE does very well and is light on memory and disk usage.

Avira free- http://www.free-av.com/

Has high detection rate. Also has advertisements that pop up occasionally that you may not want.

Avast!- http://www.avast.com/index

Very good detection rate and many useful features. Best feature is the boot scan which scans at start-up which gives it 99% removal capabilities of rookits and other stubborn malware. Also need to sign up for a free key once every 14 months which is also free.

I recommend MSE(Microsoft Security Essential) out of all these. ;)

Also for paid users you need to look at this. http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...mp;#entry181018

There are conflicts with MSE and malwarebytes'. This happens normally on xp, but I have seen it on vista.

Thanks alot Buttons. It will take me awhile to go through that, but I will.

Appreciate it!!

i would advise you turn off the Ip protection feature when you purchase it, it can reduce your internet speed considerably, don't turn it on until they fix this problem

but firstly test to see if it does have a effect on internet speed by using a online speed test
