When attempting to install using an installation file named: mbam-setup.exe, I get the following return:

Setup

Unable to exectue file:

CreateProcess failed; code 2.

The system cannot find the file specified.

What should I do?

Thanks

Hello ctrent, and Welcome to Malwarebytes...

mbam will not install - Code 2 error, mbam.exe not found

It looks like some malware may be deleting the file when it installs. Please see if the below instructions help you.

Please go here:

http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=29028

And see if that might help get Malwarebytes running for you ;)

I followed the instructions.

After launching the randomized renamed mbam.exe version from the Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder, it still wouldn't run.

I then changed the name to explorer.exe, like the instructions said, tried to run the app but I receive a 707 error.

What should I try next?

Thanks,

Chas
