Hello and Welcome to Malwarebytes....

Anti-virus software does not always catch all malware. This is why it is important to have layered security on your computers. You need to have a good antivirus software as well as anti-malware software (like Malwarebytes for example the full version). If one happens to sneak through your antivirus software Malwarebytes should catch it.

Viruses are different than malware, so due to this fact, not all of it is being detected by only having antivirus software installed.

Make sure you have run a quick scan in NORMAL MODE in windows on all accounts to ensure the computer is clean.

Hope this helps, and if you have any further questions dont hesitate to ask.

As you stated, you run Malwarebytes Free Version.....

The free version does not run the real time protection in the background and does not run the IP Protection module. MBAM currently detects and removes personal security virus, and if you had the pro version running in the background, then more than likely you would have been protected and MBAM would have caught this before you got hit.

The full version is not that expensive, and it is a one time fee for a lifetime. Well worth the price for the protection modules. You can even transfer the program to a new computer if you were to replace the one you use.

Hope that helps.
