Recommended Posts

I have a vista 32 bit and recently (two days ago) I re cieved a security update with malware bytes included. My computer started to lag a bit yesterday and afterward almost completely froze up. I opned up task manager and I found 20 no joke proceses call windows.exe and on the name it showed malwarebytes each one having about 2 or 3 under cpu even though it dosent seem like much it adds up. I also have AVG but I already exculded the paths.

I recieved a security update with malware bytes included.

Do you mean You updated or Someone else sent you this update or was it part of your daily scheduled updates with your paid version ??

Please try this on the computer that is having an issue.

1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.

2. Restart your computer (very important).

3. Download and run this utility. mbam-clean.exe

4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).

5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here. mbam-setup.exe

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray and that you can run a quick scan and all is working as expected.

Note: Do the same for the free version -

Thanks - ;)
