Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware has stopped working error

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm new to the forum, and I just used MBAM on my desktop to clean up Vista Guardian 2010 malware, and it worked great. I have some bigger issues (I think) with my laptop. I have no idea what kind of virus is on my laptop, all I know is that it my computer (when it actually decides to run) doesn't open to my usual desktop, but some alternate desktop, with a black background. It's not in SAFE MODE either.

When I try to run the program I get an alert that says Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware has stopped working. I renamed the file and that didn't work either.

Problem details gave me the following information, not quite sure how to proceed from there.

Problem signature:

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

Application Name: abooyah.exe.exe

Application Version: 1.43.0.0

Application Timestamp: 2a425e19

Fault Module Name: abooyah.exe.exe

abooyah.exe is what I had renamed the MBAM file as, just FYI. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

Thanks!
