Antivirus protection

Recommended Posts

I have the Malewarebytes 1.44 update and run scans often. I just had some work done on my computer, and took off two other antivirus programs. Do I need to get another antivirus program, or will the free version give me the protection I need? Should I purchase the full program from Malewarebytes to get extra protection?

Thanks for the reply, I just don't want to have a lot of stuff that is conflicting or that will slow down my system.

Malwarebytes is not an antivirus, we always recommend that you run an antivirus program. Malwarebytes Free edition won't protect you in the background so you have to run a scan and manually update to see if you are infected. The pro version add's real time protection.

For free "Light antivirus" you could try Microsoft Security Essentials or Panda Cloud Antivirus.

If you want to spend time and gain some computer knowledge it's possible to stay protected without an antivirus programming running in the background but that path it normally only taken by Security Experts.

Also never run more than one antivirus at a time!
