Scan result: Registry key

Recommended Posts

Greetings myez :)

This particular detection is a registry setting that determines whether or not the Windows Security Center notifies you about the status of your antivirus software (ie whether or not an AV is installed, whether or not your AV is running, and whether or not your AV is up to date). Some antivirus products monitor themselves so they disable the Security Center so that when there is an issue, you don't receive twice the number of alerts (one from the Security Center and one from the AV itself).

There are many AV products that do this, including McAfee, Norton, Avast! and several others so if you have one of the ones I mentioned then you should have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware ignore this detection, and if you do not have one of those then please post back with the name of the AV software that you do have installed and I'll let you know if it changes this setting or not.

Thanks :)

Hello again

I don't believe that Avira alters this setting, however, if the computer came with a trial of another antivirus at some point (as most do), then it's very likely that it had changed this setting. That being the case, go ahead and let Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware fix what it found and you'll be fine :P.

If you have any further issues please post.

Thanks :)
