I have the fake xp security malware on my computer - the process is av.exe.

I've used a tree explorer to end the process but it still restarts before mbam.exe can iniate. The only way I can get malwarebytes to run is by renaming mbam.exe to something like mal.bat

It then runs, but when it finds the infected files it says it need to remove them on restart. When I restart though malwarebytes doesn't run again (to remove the infected files) due to the fact I've renamed it. Even if I have an original copy of mbam.exe in the folder aswell as my *.bat file it doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time.
