pc freezing

malware bytes detected trojan droppers which were quarantined and deleted.....also found a rootkit.gen....have ran several scans since in safe mode and not detecting anything but pc locks up in normal mode?i also run avira and no luck there either.....both programs are the free downloads....any suggestions would be appreciated. thanx
