After I treated my XP PC for the InternetSecurity 2010 Malware with your product and rebooted, elements of IS 2010 appear to still be present and the computer is super slow. It seems to work only for a few seconds at regular intervals kind of like the intervals that IS 2010 displayed its warnings. In fact over a four hour period last night I could not get through to the location of the log file or I would have provided it to help with diagnosing this problem.

My anti-virus program is Zone Alam's Suite if that helps. I think your software deactivated it during the scan.

Please help I am unsure of what steps to take and since it takes so long to get anything done I do not want to waste effort and need to get this done when I have more time this weekend.

Do as what marktreg stated.... and just to add...

You did not state whether you already had MBAM installed before, so if you only installed it recently, did you add the exceptions to you Zona Alarm Suite for MBAM? This could be causing some of your slow down.... Add the exceptions as listed below...

Please exclude the following files from your antivirus:

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well

For Windows XP:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

For 32 bit versions Windows Vista or Windows 7:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
