Hi,

So, I have an annoying redirect problem. I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes and it found some problems which it removed, but which did not fix the redirect problem. So following the advice given to another poster experiencing the same problem, I've started running through the directions here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=9573

I'm currently working through this portion:

If you're still experiencing issues after running the above procedures then please follow the instructions below.

Disable CD-ROM Emulation Software

o DeFogger - DisablePlease download the following tool DeFogger to your desktop.

o Double click DeFogger to run the tool.

o The application window will appear

o Click the Disable button to disable your CD Emulation drivers.

o Click Yes to continue

o A 'Finished!' message will appear

o Click OK

o DeFogger will now ask to reboot the machine - click OK

o IMPORTANT! If you receive an error message while running DeFogger, please post the log defogger_disable which will appear on your desktop.

o Do not re-enable these drivers until otherwise instructed.

but it seems to be stuck at the point where DeFogger is supposed to ask me to reboot my computer. I got the "Finished!" message, clicked ok, and now the program's just been sitting there open and apparantly not doing anything? for the last 10-15 minutes. It hasn't given me any error messages or anything. Should I restart my computer? Close DeFogger? Just move on to the next step?

Thanks so much, this place is a great resource!

Hello AngieLanigan, and welcome to Malwarebytes.org

As everyones computer is different, following the instructions in that post may not apply to your situation, and may cause more harm than good. If you are still experiencing problems like with the redirects, it would be best to have the experts take a look at your problem and help you out. Please follow the instructions below and they will help you as soon as an expert becomes available. They are quite busy in the section so please be patient.

We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums.

Please print out, read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post.

Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org
