I'm glad I found MBAM and used it to remove Trojan.Vundo.H and Adware.Gdown, deposited on my PC by some sub-human pest. :D

Now with the full version, I find that my PC must be running in order for scheduled [daily] updates and quick scan to run. In contrast, my AV app will start its weekly scan as soon as Windows starts, provided the current time is at or after the scheduled scan time. I wish MBAM could do that.

Since I cannot predict when I'll have the PC turned on, and don't want to leave it on adding to my carbon footprint, may I ask more-experienced users whether they have figured out a workaround for this?

Thank you for your help.

We will be adding a new, and far more advanced, scheduling service to the next major release (late February or early March). This new scheduling system should be very flexible, and should allow you to schedule at various time intervals. I am not sure if it will support scheduling at startup, but I can mention that to the developers so that they know it's something that users are looking for. :D
