Hello everyone. My computer has just gone absolutely haywire, and I am in desperate straits. I would appreciate any and all help, as I am not a professional computer wizard. It started acting up a few days ago, and now only allows small intervals of half an hour before automatically shutting off. Thanks in advance for any charitable help... I am attaching the log:

To all relevant parties and moderators, please accept all apologies. I assume I have either probably (1) posted in the wrong forum in a foolish manner or 2) egregiously neglected some critical part of forum protocol, as I see other posters in the same "newbie-ish" category as myself receiving responses while none have been received here. "The silence is deafening." As to (1) I have politely asked if I could be re-directed to the correct forum, and as to (2), all I can do is ask for forgiveness for my woeful lack of "net-iquette" and general online social refinement.

I suppose this will be my last post here, in light of the fact that more recent posters of similar non-expert backgrounds as myself have received attention more immediately and therefore I assume I have probably not merited any helper's attention; or, I have gravely violated forum proprieties in some unknown way.

I am a confirmed user of Malwarebytes, respect the quality of the product (and share this positive customer assessment with others), and just thought perhaps some informed "good Samaritan" on their official forum might give a few droplets of humanitarian mercy in spite of the fact that I am not a master of the initiatory secrets of computer science. I am sorry for any perceived impertinence or obtrusiveness. Farewell.

Sorry for the delay

We need to see some additional information about what is happening in your machine.

Please perform the following scan:

  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.

[*]Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.

[*]A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool.

[*]When done, DDS will open two (2) logs

    1. DDS.txt

    2. Attach.txt

[*] Save both reports to your desktop.

[*] The instructions here ask you to attach the Attach.txt.

    DDS.jpg

[*]Instead of attaching, please copy/past both logs into your next reply.

[*]Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.

Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run.

After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection.

Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

A similar issue happened with me, only I don't have the good fortune of my computer running at all before it shuts down. It just flashes my desktop (without icons) for a sec and logs me off. This didn't happen till after I ran MBAM, it disinfected my computer and asked me to reboot. No response to my post either...likely because I used the free version (I always try before I buy, for the very reason above). The only good thing I can say about Malwarebytes is that they let you try it free, that way you're not extra aggrivated at having to buy a new harddrive after paying for and running said program.
