Malwarebytes fails to launch with Windows and error code 2

Hi, I am new to Malwarebytes. I selected start with windows, but it never has. I have to go to the protection tab and enable the program. Also, while I am online I receive an error code 2. The exact wording on the error box is "[OpenEvent] Failed to perform desired action. Error Code: 2".

Please help me fix these 2 issues. I was assured that this is the best program to protect my computer. I have the purchased version.

I have windows xp. And I have no other antivirus software. I just noticed that everytime I get that error it disables the malwarebytes.
