Scan freezes after 1 minute

My PC seems to be infected, but I have no idea how to fix it. I updated my Malware software and tried to run a full scan, but it keeps freezing just after 1 minute. Can you help me figure out (a) if i have a virus and ( how to fix my MWB scanner. I'm hoping I don't have a virus (or more), but would like help cleaning if needed.

forgot to mention that i just downloaded the free dr. web and am running right now.

so far i have instsrv.exe c:\winnt\system32 tool.srvrunner on my list

EDIT - Dr Web Cure It is very good (even though the long scan takes a while) - It will not remove all the infections that can freeze your system -

thanks! the dr. web scan is going crazy with a long list of results. i'll let that finish first and then move on to your instructions. if i can get a log file, i'll post that too.

sorry for not being able to continue this thread right away...it's taking longer than i anticipated. i'll be back on tomorrow with some new posts.
