My XP machine was redirecting google searches to wrong sites and I would get the message "warning!!! your computer contains various signs of viruses and malware programs presense ...". The End Task in task manager was disabled so I could not end any tasks. I ran Malwarebytes on boot and it detected and killed a virus. I also detected and removed InternetSecurity2010 when the computer rebooted. I ran a complete scan from Spybot, Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware and they all return 0 problems. I also deleted all cookies and temporary internet files. My google search is still still getting redirected randomly still and I am still getting the "warning!!! your computer contains various signs of viruses and malware programs presense ...". with IE8 and Firefox. I even get it sometimes when I turn off scripting on the browser.

Should I totally rebuild the pc? The virus seems to have gotten pretty deep into the os.

Two runs of ComboFix seems to have solved it. The atapi.sys was infected. That consumed about a day and 1/2 of my time.
