IP ticking question

Recommended Posts

I just found that my IP protection was ticked off. I do not recall doing this, I want it on, and now I'll check on it every once in a while to make sure its not randomly turned off, but anyway...

I right-clicked next to "IP Protection" in the taskbar, clicked next to IP Protection, and a checkmark did not appear. I right-clicked again to see if it appeared afterward, and it did not.

Restarting my computer fixed the problem, but, I was wondering if it is normal not to be able to re-enable IP protection without restarting?

K, I'll untick it after I do a few other things I came online to do, and see if I can reproduce this.

I'm not doing any web searching of any sort tonight anyway, and of course I am always happy to help! :)

Edit: I unticked it and it will not let me retick. So, I will take care of this soon, thanks again Exile :)

Its a XP situation I believe as I had that problem on my XP Pro system a while back and it started with the IP protection enhancement introduction and was discussed quite extensively then.

I did not have it on my Windows 7 system but notice that it takes 30 seconds or so for the red Malwarebytes icon to appear in the taskbar.
