Geek Wannabee Posted February 23, 2008 ID:13604 Share Posted February 23, 2008 Loaded the update and ran it today. Works fine!My full scans of the C: drive seem to take longer than everyone else's though, even with roughly the same number of files, etc. being scanned. Scan time is almost a half hour! John L. Galt Posted February 28, 2008 ID:13977 Share Posted February 28, 2008 Wish mine was 34 seconds - I can get some decent speeds if I clear out my temp files and run it a couple of times....
Lazy-Ninja Posted February 29, 2008 ID:14055 Share Posted February 29, 2008 Wish mine was 34 seconds - I can get some decent speeds if I clear out my temp files and run it a couple of times....This brings up a very good point I have been meaning to bring up.Scan time is GREATLY improved on the quick scan by clearing out temp files.I would suggest implementing a "Clear temp files" button above the scan button that you recommend people click first to improve their scan times. It could be something as simple as Blastemp from Jayloden ( http://www.jayloden.com/blastemp.htm ). Even that quick clear improves scan times by a few minutes. My $0.02Also, submitting some hostile files I came across.
John L. Galt Posted February 29, 2008 ID:14056 Share Posted February 29, 2008 Well, the problem is that cleaning them out may also cause the scanner to miss some malware that might have resided there, so technically this would *not* be a good idea....I am pretty positive that most people would opt for a thorough scan rather than a really fast scan....Actually, both Malware *and* FPs - my last 3 FPs came straight out of the temp folder, on installing 3 different products, which the RTS found.... Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted February 29, 2008 Author Root Admin ID:14064 Share Posted February 29, 2008 It will be added in a few versions from now. This will remove the malware anyway and allow for a quicker scan .

I fail to see the issue...
