Malwarebytes won't install because of 'Internet Security 2010?

Ended up with this ridiculous 'Internet Security 2010' a couple of days ago. I've read that Malwarebytes will kill this thing, but it won't let Malwarebytes install. I've been reading all the info I can find, and have cleared out all that I can find, both files and registery entries. I don't know what's left, I've even killed some files that were involved by using FileAsassin. Popups are gone, can use Taskmanager, but if I try to install Malwarebytes it goes through the whole setup, then gives a message at the end: "Unable to execute file: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anit-Malware\mbam.exe"

And that's it, program won't start up!

Does anyone know what file or registry entry does this with the IS2010 Malware? Is there a way to get Malwarebytes past this so it will install?

And if so, does anyone know for sure if Malwarebytes will fix the IS2010 garbage?

I've tried the 'Process Explorer' and don't see anything suspicious either.

Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Anyone have an idea?

I used 'Process Explorer' on two computers side by side, one being uninfected, and shut down everything that wasn't the same on both. Still won't let me install Malwarebytes....

Downloaded 'RootRepeal', and it won't let that install either.....just says 'Initializing, Please wait'...and never does anything.

This is happening to me. I had this virus last year, and downloaded malwarebytes. And my computer has been working fine. But last week the old virus became active again, or the 2010 version came in the back door, and my malwarebytes is gone and I can't download another one. I've downloaded it with a fake name, as a randomly named file, changed the name to explorer.exe, and still can't install it. I'm at my wits end, ready to chuck the computer out the window. I think I'll try the detailed description of what to do on http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=9573, and then see what happens.
