gmkenny Posted January 9, 2010 ID:182089 Share Posted January 9, 2010 I was trying to watch the office episodes online, and found a site, the McAfee thing my computer said it was a safe site, and then this antivirus live attached itself to the computer, I don't know how to get rid of it please help.. it won't let me open up anything, I can't even open up recycle bin or system restore, and it keeps giving me this fake warnings and opening up porn sites on internet explorer.How do I remove this? You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode with Networking then hit enter.Please update\run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.Double Click the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware icon to run the application.Click on the update tab then click on Check for updates.If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.Once the update has loaded, go to the Scanner tab and select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.Extra Note:If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatley.
