Hi,

First of all, please update MalwareBytes, because the databaseversion is outdated.

  • Start MalwareBytes and click the Update tab. There click "Check for updates"
  • Once the updates are downloaded, perform a quick scan again.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log, then we'll proceed from there with new steps.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Hi,

I've Updated Malwarebytes and run it. When it completes a window pops up saying The scan ran sucessfully. No malicious items were detected, click 'Main Menu'. Doing so brings up the original screen from which you begin scans. There is no 'Show Results', nothing to check off, and no 'remove selected'. What did I miss? I'll attach the files anyway and wait to hear from you. Thanks!

Hi,

That popup you get, from what I read, you get this once in a while... Is this when you visit a certain website?

Because there's a difference when you would get it on almost every page + even when your IE is closed.

In the first case, it's mainly the website itself responsible for that popup. That doesn't mean your Computer is infected.

I actually can't see anything suspicious in your HijackThislog either.

However, you can check and fix this entry in HijackThis:

O2 - BHO: Browser Address Error Redirector - {CA6319C0-31B7-401E-A518-A07C3DB8F777} - C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\BAE\BAE.dll

It's not malware, but a useless Browser add-on and not really recommended.

Hi,

I already posted in between:

Hi, Thanks for the fast reply. The pop-up occurs perhaps once every 1 or 2 days. It is not associated with any particuliar website and will occur randomly, even when working locally in Word or Excel. I will remove that add-on and see if that helps. Thanks again.

Hi,

Please also do the following..

* Clean your Cache and Cookies in IE:

  • Close all instances of Outlook Express and Internet Explorer
  • Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab
  • Under Browsing History, click "Delete".
  • Click "Delete Files", "Delete cookies" and "Delete history"
  • Click Close below.

* Clean your Cache and Cookies in Firefox (In case you also have Firefox installed):

  • Go to Tools > Options.
  • Click Privacy in the menu..
  • Click the Clear now button below.. A new window will popup what to clear.
  • Select all and click the Clear button again.
  • Click OK to close the Options window

* Clean other Temporary files + Recycle bin

  • Go to start > run and type: cleanmgr and click ok.
  • Let it scan your system for files to remove.
  • Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
  • Press OK to remove them.

Then, Please download DDS and save it to your desktop.

  • Disable any script blocking protection
  • Double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS.txt will open.
  • Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.
  • Save both reports to your desktop.

---------------------------------------------------

Copy and paste the contents of DDS.txt in your next reply. Do not copy and paste the contents of Attach.txt, but attach it to your reply instead.

Also, can you tell me what these are?

C:\DSI\OLDREPLITE2\inetupapp.exe

C:\DSI\OLDREPLITE\inetupapp.exe

Hi,

I really can't see anything strange/suspicious here.

The fact that you get these popups only once in a while (in 1 or 2 days) is also really weird, so i wonder if it's any other app generating these...

Can you also answer my other questions?

Also, can you tell me what these are?

Sorry, I just noticed your other question. The files you mentioned are propriatary real estate title programs that are used on this PC. I have a screen shot of the pop-up I'll attach. It came up when an email was sent out.

Forum won't let me attach it or copy/paste either. Sorry. It says " Message from webpage" "Your computer contains various signs of viruses and malware programs presence. Your system requires immediate anti viruses check! Systems Security will provide a quick and free scanning of your PC for viruses and malicious programs."

If "OK", "Cancel" of x out is chosen it appear to run something and then a list of 100 plus Trojans etc is shown with a prompt to download something.

Hope this helps.......Thanks

Hi,

Can you upload the screenshot here? http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/submit-malware.php?channel=8

Also do next...

Please run this online scan to help look for remnants.

Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner

Click Accept, when prompted to download and install the program files and database of malware definitions.

  • Click Run at the Security prompt.
  • The program will then begin downloading and installing and will also update the database.
  • Please be patient as this can take several minutes.
  • Once the update is complete, click on My Computer under the green Scan bar to the left to start the scan.
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
  • Do NOT be alarmed by what you see in the report. Many of the finds have likely been quarantined.
  • Click View scan report at the bottom.
  • Click the Save Report As... button.
  • Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop so that you may post it in your next reply.

**Note**

To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:

  • Close any open programs.
  • Turn off the real-time scanner of all antivirus or antispyware programs while performing the online scan.

Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble viewing the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75%. Once the license is accepted, reset to 100%.
