I'm having a problem with one file. It's mdpmsirs.dll found in my documents and settings application data folder. I had MB remove it, but it keeps coming back. I checked this file with two other programs that don't seem to think it's a problem. I can't figure out what this file might be associated with, if it's a problem file or not.

I've attached the log using the Run command as describes with the sticky note. Also attached the bad file in zip form.

Thanks ... AKiley

It is not executable , that is for sure . I am unable to find anything online about what this may be part of . We are hitting it on a few heuristic factors but nothing direct .

Here is what you need to do . Move the file to another folder (report if there is an error while doing this) and reboot . Use your PC for a while and see if there are any issues and check to see if the file regenerates .

Let us know what happens .

Hi, Thanks for the help. MB has detected and deleted this file three times over the last 2 months. The file always regenerates on it's own. I had an issue with a Google Earth plugin, but searching the files in Google earth I did not see any files with any name similarity. In fact I search my entire computer for various parts of the name and came up empty.

So basically, I have rebooted with and without this file, but have not seen any problems other than that it regenerates. I have a lot of software though. NOD, and CounterSpy did not seem to think this file was a threat.

One other problem that I have not solved in 6 months is that when I close XP, it crashes file explorer and I get the message if I want to email Microsoft. After that, I get back my OS and can shut down. C
