My computer is infected with the malware defender virus, I ran a full virus scan with symantec antivirus and that caught most of the files, but now when I start my computer up it will freeze in several spots. It will freeze when the screen goes black before loading the pick profile screen, it will freeze on the blue windows profile screen before the profiles are loaded, and it will freeze after i have entered my password on my profile but before it leaves the profile screen. I don't know what to do at this point, I have run several full virus scans in safe mode and it doesn't fix it.

Disable Teatimer

First:

• Right click Spybot in the System Tray (looks like a calendar with a padlock symbol)
  
• Choose Exit Spybot S&D Resident
  

Second:

• Open Spybot S&D
  
• Click Mode, check Advanced Mode
  
• Go To Left Panel, Click Tools, then also in left panel, click Resident
  
• If your firewall raises a question, say OK
  
• Uncheck the box labeled Resident Tea-Timer and OK any prompts.
  
• Use File, Exit to terminate Spybot
  
• Reboot your machine for the changes to take effect.
  

Don't forget to re-enable it, when your computer is clean.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  
• Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
  

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

I don't see spybot in my system tray. Is there something I should do differently to access it? I tried opening spybot from the program section of the start tab and nothing comes up.

I tried installing malwarebytes from the link you posted and the program installed, but whenever i try to open the program nothing comes up on the screen. So I booted my computer up in safe mode and uninstalled my current version of malwarebytes and restarted my computer. I then booted up again in safe mode and tried installing the program again, but I got the same result, the program installed, but I nothing shows up when I start the program.

The program doesn't operate fully in Safe Mode. After you install it in Normal mode, how long did you wait for it to appear. Sometimes it can take a minute or so to finish updating then it will appear.

I installed it outside of safemode the first time, and waited 7 min for the window to show up.
