Loganton4386 Posted December 29, 2009 ID:176924 Share Posted December 29, 2009 Hi I was wondering if there was a big definition mess up with the Adware.AdRotator detection. I ask this because MBAM detected it in the following log, and although it was fixed I read some other FP posts and many said that some innocuous file was being detected as AdRotator. I understand that this has been fixed but the other detection (Trojan.Dropper) hasn't been resolved yet. The second log I'm posting is the developer log.Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.42Database version: 3410Windows 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.1886512/23/2009 5:03:07 PMmbam-log-2009-12-23 (17-03-02).txtScan type: Full Scan (C:\|D:\|F:\|)Objects scanned: 323143Time elapsed: 2 hour(s), 6 minute(s), 34 second(s)Memory Processes Infected: 0Memory Modules Infected: 0Registry Keys Infected: 0Registry Values Infected: 0Registry Data Items Infected: 0Folders Infected: 0Files Infected: 3Memory Processes Infected:(No malicious items detected)Memory Modules Infected:(No malicious items detected)Registry Keys Infected:(No malicious items detected)Registry Values Infected:(No malicious items detected)Registry Data Items Infected:(No malicious items detected)Folders Infected:(No malicious items detected)Files Infected:C:\Users\James\Downloads\AAVPE Temp\AntiVir Desktop\ccquarc.dll (Trojan.Dropper) -> No action taken.C:\Users\James\AppData\Local\Temp\~nsu.tmp\Au_.exe (Adware.AdRotator) -> No action taken.C:\Users\James\Downloads\YouTubeDownloaderSetup253b.exe (Adware.AdRotator) -> No action taken.Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.42Database version: 3449Windows 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.1886512/29/2009 5:59:41 PMmbam-log-2009-12-29 (17-59-35).txtScan type: Full Scan (C:\|D:\|)Objects scanned: 125985Time elapsed: 1 hour(s), 17 minute(s), 24 second(s)Memory Processes Infected: 0Memory Modules Infected: 0Registry Keys Infected: 0Registry Values Infected: 0Registry Data Items Infected: 0Folders Infected: 0Files Infected: 1Memory Processes Infected:(No malicious items detected)Memory Modules Infected:(No malicious items detected)Registry Keys Infected:(No malicious items detected)Registry Values Infected:(No malicious items detected)Registry Data Items Infected:(No malicious items detected)Folders Infected:(No malicious items detected)Files Infected:C:\Users\James\Downloads\AAVPE Temp\AntiVir Desktop\ccquarc.dll (Trojan.Dropper) -> No action taken. Loganton4386 Posted January 2, 2010 Author ID:178766 Share Posted January 2, 2010 OK I just rescanned with MBAM using the latest update and apparently the Trojan.Dropper FP in Avira was fixed. However I'm just wondering the extent of the Adware.AdRotator False Positives because reading the FP forum yielded many people saying that MBAM had flagged many different harmless files including the 2 I have on the log of my first post here.
