Numerous problems... freezing, browser redirection, etc.

I have been experiencing numerous problems with my computer. If I'm lucky, I can stay on my computer for about 8 minutes or so. It tends to freeze right after the BIOS screen or a few minutes later. It has locked me out of any type of administrator settings... even though I'm the only one using the computer. Every time I use a search engine, and select a link, it redirects me the random ad sites. It doesnt let me use my Yahoo SBC browser, so Im stuck with IE. The main thing I want to get rid of is this freezing component. My computer doesn't seem like its overheating at all. I recently installed a new graphics card, b/c the other one had died. It was just a replacement, same model and all. Every time I put the CD in to install the updates, the computer refuses to launch the program... this happens with other CDs too.

I was able to install hijack this and save a log to a USB drive. I guess miracles do happen!
